Sensation Black

Sensation Black is always held in the second weekend of July and all attendees are required to dress completely in black instead of white. The music gets a little more hard and it’s the night of techno and its people to rise up again. Many support the opinion that it should be more Trance style and less House, as it was originally set to be, but the organizers felt that people tend to turn in House and Electro more and more every day.

Important DJs that have appeared at Sensation Black include Showtek, Angerfist, Headhunterz, Marcel Woods, Chris Liebing, DJ Lady Dana, DJ Luna, DJ Zany, The Prophet, Technoboy, Tommyknocker, Yoji Biomehanika and Mauro Picotto.A great amount of promoters and sponsors, like Coce, Pepsi, BMW, MINI, Nike, and many others, help the whole party to take flesh and become “The World`s Leading Event” as it is commonly known.

In 2009 Sensation Black was not held in the Netherlands, but only in Belgium because ID&T was looking for a better location. Additionally in 2010 it was on  Amsterdam Arena with the one-time replacement of Sensation Black called the Feestfabriek. In each party there is a set called The Megamix, where there is no Dj playing, but the music is chosen by the organizers, according the latest hits and inspired by any tune.

A lot of people argue on which Sensation is better, Black or White, but the point is you cannot really tell. It’s just a matter of preferences and favors. Be sure that i am not going to take any side. I will just let you be the judge of it....

Sensation White

Sensation is a dance-event, which takes place in the Netherlands and is organized by ID&T. The original event, was exclusively in the Amsterdam Arena but from 2005, is located in Poland, Spain, Austria, Chile, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Serbia, Brazil, Norway, Ukraine and United Kingdom.

Although it began as one edition, just called Sensation, it has been split up into two editions, Sensation Black and Sensation White. This is done to point out the difference in music style and in the whole feeling. Sensation Black focuses more on 'darker' music, whereas Sensation White focuses more on Trance. On 2008 the names of the events have been changed: ”Sensation“ (before ”Sensation White“), and ”Black“ (before ”Sensation Black“).

Sensation White used to be a trance event, but in later years, it has become a pure house event. All the visitors are required to wear white and the Amsterdam Arena itself is also decorated to match. Sensation White has a slogan, "Be Part Of The Night - Dress in White".

Every event has around 40000-45000 tickets available and believe me, there is always a sold out. Great DJs that have appeared at Sensation include Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Swedish House Mafia, Darren Emerson, David Guetta, Erick E, Erick Morillo, Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Paul van Dyk, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Angello, Fedde Le Grand, Sebastian Ingrosso, Felix Da Housecat, Laidback Luke, Tocadisco and many others.

To create interest in the event, Sensation came up with a contest where the fans would vote for their favorite theme, via the social networks, and make it the anthem. The people behind this event do their best to make each party unique and unforgettable for the visitors and really give their whole energy in it. Despite all the technical problems, the DJs booking and many others, as the great amount of power consumption in each event, it is true that the do a great job.

It is truly a life experience to be there and see for yourself how great a party can be and how much people can create and imagine when they really love what they do...
