So, here is the big question. What defines Music?
It’s just a set of sounds put together in such way to create a melody or a tune? It’s the science that explains the musical notes and staves? It’s something that was created by humans and for humans only? It’s something that makes us feel good and want to dance?
Well in my opinion, it is all and none of the above in the same time. This shocking truth stroke me some years ago while meeting an old –and wise as proved below- friend inside a glamorous casino. After having lost all of his money we ended up chatting in the bar and came up with a controversy about what kind of music was the best. On asking him the most common question “What kind of music do you listen” he answered me the most unexpected thing.”I listen music”. That’s it. Nothing else…..
As he explained to me later on as far as he was concerned, music was everything. Every little sound that we were able to hear, coming from nature or from human factor. The only difference is how someone uses these sounds to create our so called “music”. This whole procedure involves experience, music culture, knowledge, study and many other factors to create a desirable result. So it all comes down to understanding the complexity and diversity of each human being to try to figure out his music likings. Quite heavy stuff for my first post on my music blog, you would say, but it was something i would like to share with you.Far from that, from now on you can expect to live with me the ultimate music experience.
So pump up the volume and brake your speakers!
