Exit Festival

Exit (aka State of Exit) is an annual summer Music Festival that takes place in Petrovaradin (a beautiful 18th century fortress by the Danube) of Novi Sad, Serbia. It started in 2000 by the three university students Dusan Kovacevic, Bojan Boskovic and Ivan Milivojev from Novi Sad and lasts for three days usually in July.

Its popularity grew rapidly and people’s travelling to attend to this event was unstoppable. Apart from entertaining the Serbian teenagers it also has political topics mentioned each year. Its greatest recognition came on 2007 when it was awarded as the “Best European Festival” among 10 festivals by the UK Festival Awards and Yourope (the Association of the 40 largest festivals in Europe). This was a great achievement for a festival held in a Balkan country and started slowly and grew largely.

Seeing that Exit has the reputation of an internationalist gathering, many politicians took the opportunity to promote themselves and helped the event with economic support. After many problems in the first years Exit found its way to become one of the greatest festivals worldwide.

Many DJs have participated on the festival as Axwell, Deep Dish, Dillinja, DJ Hype, Francois K, Gogol Bordello, Gossip, , Laurent Garnier,Manu Chao, Nightwish, Paul Weller, The Presets, Primal Scream, Sven Väth, Tiamat, Tiga, Moby, John Digweed, Sasha, Kraftwerk, The Prodigy, James Jabiela, Yousef, Steve Lawler, Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Ricardo Villalobos, Fedde Le Grand, Joachim Garraud and many others.

For those who want to live the experience of a Dance Music Festival, I strongly recommend Exit Festival to fulfill your dreams and dance all night long in a beautiful environment. So as the promoters say…

See you all over the fortress!
