Mystery Land

Mystery Land is the “oldest dance festival” in Holland. It began in 1993 and its current location is Haarlemmermeer on the grounds of the former Floriade.

Mystery Land attracts about 60000 visitors a year. A comprehensive line-up offering music, dance, art and theatre is combined with workshops, fusion food and art. Various well-known artists, such as Micha Klein and Dadara, have designed the festival artwork.

Each year, thousands of people after travelling to Mysteryland, return with millions of unique stories. Every story is as unbelievable as it is true, yet none of them embraces the entire festival experience. Not only does this edition offer a broader creative program than ever. Musically, Mysteryland also brings an explosion of various electronic styles, ranging from cutting edge dubstep, hip hop and disco to the cream of the international house, techno and electro scene.

With an international cast including Sebastian Ingrosso, Richie Hawtin, Hi-Tek Soul from Detroit masters Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson, Marcel Dettmann, Tensnake, Boys Noize, Modeselektor, Martin Solveig, Dave Clarke and Ben Sims, combined with Holland’s very own heroes and talents, like Joris Voorn, 2000 And One, Speedy J, Afrojack, Chuckie, The Man With No Shadow, Gomes and Brutuzz, Mysteryland’s musical diversity can’t be mistaken. There’s even room for some surprising collabs, like hip hop artists Winne and Skinto with Headhunterz and Promo, both deejays of harder styles.

In 1993 and 1994 Mystery Land lasted 3 days and has been staged in February, March, April, June and July. Now for the 7th time in its permanent location, it takes place every year on the last Saturday of August. Mystery Land will travel for first time outside Holland, even Europe. On December 16, 17 and 18, 2011 Mystery Land is going to be held in Chile.

Experience the happiest day of the year….
